When I moved to London after living five years in the USA I found the prospect of finding employment in the city rather daunting. There were so many opportunities to think about but choosing the right one can be tough. I had been job hunting on the internet and posted my CV on many recruitment sights and within one week I had recruitment agencies calling me every five minutes, even though you may think this is a good thing, it makes decision making even more difficult.

All of the agencies I had spoken to all believed they could find me work and I had set up appointments with some of them. Most of the phone conversations I had with other agencies didn't fill me confidence that they actually cared about finding me a role that I would be happy in and grow in.

Maurice from MTA Associates was different to all the other recruitment guys I had spoken with. He was calm and confident during our phone conversation and he actually seemed interested in what I was looking for, not just in what job he had to sell to me. He listened to my goals and what I wanted to do with the rest of my working life and how I could build on my career. Based on this phone call I cancelled my other appointments and agreed to visit Maurice at his office. Which was all the way across town from where I was living at the time, as I believed that it would be worth my while to meet with MTA.

When I arrived at the office I was greeted in a very friendly manner even though I was late due to being evacuated from the DLR station. Maurice sat down with me for at least an hour and interviewed me about my experience and what I hoped for in a role and what I wanted to achieve in my career. At the end of our discussion he had put me forwards for a trial shift in The Footman. I attended the shift and took to the place automatically. I have been working there since February 4th 2008 and am really enjoying and challenging myself there.

I feel that MTA associates got maximum results for me in minimum time and in a genuine manner. Even weeks after I had settled into my new role Maurice would call for a chat to make sure that I was getting on well with my new job. Therefore, I would definitely recommend using MTA Associates.
